Lenovo Warranty and Service

1. Definition of Terms

As used in this warranty policy, Product or Merchandise means any hardware manufactured for or by Evolution Computers Inc dba HIDevolution, herein known as HIDevolution bearing the HIDevolution trademark, trade name, or logo that is purchased directly from HIDevolution.

The Manufacturer is Lenovo Inc, herein known as Lenovo, bearing the Lenovo trademark, trade name, or logo.

The System Integrator is HIDevolution.

An End User is the ultimate consumer of the Product or Merchandise and constitutes anyone who owns and uses a Lenovo Product.

2. Lenovo Warranty

The standard parts and labor warranty is covered for a period of 1 year from the date of shipment of merchandise and may be claimed through either Lenovo or HIDevolution. Any upgraded or changed components installed by HIDevolution will match the manufacturer's warranty period. Any upgraded or changed components installed by HIDevolution will NOT void the manufacturer's warranty. However, claims for parts installed by HIDevolution must be claimed from HIDevolution. Faults that have been determined to be caused by a manufacturer installed core component, such as but not limited to the VGA card, motherboard, original CPU, speakers, hinges, original display panel, etc, may still be claimed under the manufacturer's warranty through the manufacturer without HIDevolution acting as the intermediary party.

3. Software

Third party software is warranted separately by their respective manufacturers.

4. Lenovo Accidental Damage Protection

For products configured with accidental damage protection, accidental damage is defined as damage to the merchandise caused by a drop, spill, or liquid damage. One (1) accidental damage claim may be made for each year of purchased service. An extension of accidental damage protection is NOT offered once the product has shipped to the end user.

Accidental damage protection is offered through the U.S. division of Lenovo and may or may not be valid through Lenovo in other regions. End users located outside of the U.S. may choose to claim accidental damage through HIDevolution either on an individual basis or in conjunction with a HIDevolution International Prepaid International (HIPS) plan (see HIPS section).

5. Extended Service Plans

HIDevolution offers extended service plans for an additional charge. Extended service plans are covered by both Lenovo and HIDevolution. Extended service plans may be purchased separately within 90 calendar days of invoice date.

7. Consumables

Consumables, such as but not limited to, the lithium ion battery or AC power adapter provided with the Product, are covered for a period of 1 Year from date of invoice. The Warranty for Consumables is separate from the main Product Warranty and cannot be extended.

8. Lenovo International Warranty (IWS)

For certain products, Lenovo includes a standard international warranty (IWS) valid for the length of the chosen service plan that is valid in certain countries . Manufacturer’s warranty support for the Lenovo international warranty will be limited to the manufacturer installed core components such as but not limited to the VGA card, motherboard, original CPU, speakers, hinges, original display panel, power jack, etc. Any issues with upgraded or changed components installed by HIDevolution must be claimed through HIDevolution.

It is the end user's sole responsibility to contact Lenovo in his or her respective country for validity and support of the standard warranty. HIDevolution bears no responsibility if the product is not supported in the end user's local region.

9. HIDevolution International Prepaid Shipping (HIPS) Service

For an additional charge HIDevolution offers two ways international prepaid shipping for end users either traveling or residing outside of the U.S.

HIDevolution International Prepaid Shipping (HIPS) service includes two (2) instances per year of free two way international shipping should the system, components, and/or accessories need to be sent back to HIDevolution for warranty related repair or replacement. Once the two (2) instances of two way international shipping have been exhausted, the end user will be liable for transit costs back to HIDevolution, and HIDevolution will cover one way shipping back to the end user following completion of warranty related work.

HIPS service is valid for ALL countries where HIDevolution ships to.

The method of return shipping is dependent on the origin country and is entirely at the discretion of HIDevolution. Return shipping is handled through one of the following methods:

1)    Pre-paid FedEx or DHL shipping label – HIDevolution will provide a pre-paid shipping label from FedEx or DHL through email.

2)    Return shipping concession – HIDevolution will provide a credit in the form of US Dollars or equivalent store credit, at the end user’s discretion, for the costs incurred for end user determined return shipping. The end user must provide HIDevolution with a receipt that shows the amount paid and if available, the billable weight and return tracking number. For the purpose of determining the amount of return shipping concession, HIDevolution will predetermine the billable weight based on the product’s weight, as referenced from the manufacturer’s specifications list. The compensation amount corresponds to the United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail Express International service (post office rate) below - https://ircalc.usps.gov

Import and export related taxes, duties, or fees are the responsibility of the end user. HIDevolution does not take responsibility for any extraneous costs.

A HIDevolution International Prepaid Shipping plan may be purchased after the receipt of merchandise by the end user. The cost is dependent on the time lapsed since the original receipt of merchandise.

At their cost, end users located outside of the U.S. at time of warranty claim may send the product back to HIDevolution for coverage under the standard 2 year warranty. If needed, a prepaid FedEx or DHL return shipping label may be purchased from HIDevolution. HIDevolution will invoice the end user the transit costs for returning the goods to the end user once the claim is resolved.

10. HIDevolution Display Warranty

For an additional charge HIDevolution offers a display warranty independent from the manufacturer’s standard warranty. Display warranties may only be claimed with HIDevolution.

Pixel defects are defined as lit, dead, or stuck pixels within the viewable area of the display. HIDevolution will physically check for pixel defects prior to dispatching the item to the End User. If the End User discovers a pixel defect during the chosen warranty period, the End User is entitled to make a claim with HIDevolution. HIDevolution will, at its discretion, choose either to replace the display panel and/or its relevant components, or replace the system in its entirety.

A HIDevolution display warranty may be claimed in combination with the terms of the standard warranty (2 way free domestic ground shipping), or if applicable, within the terms of a HIDevolution International Prepaid Shipping (HIPS) plan (2 way free international shipping). In the case a display warranty claim is made in combination with a HIDevolution International Prepaid Shipping (HIPS) claim, one instance of one way shipping from End User to HIDevolution shall be forfeited.

11. Warranty Claim Procedure

Provided the end user contacts HIDevolution before the expiration of the limited warranty period, the standard warranty claim procedure involves:

1) Contacting the manufacturer by phone or email; or HIDevolution by email, online ticket system, live chat, or phone for initial remote troubleshooting, which may involve but is not limited to performing basic troubleshooting steps with a live support agent, illustration of problem through video or video chat with a support agent, live remote access or control by support agent to end user’s system through a support application/utility with end user’s written or verbal authorization.

2) After all remote troubleshooting steps and procedures have been exhausted, the end user may be asked to send the product to the manufacturer or HIDevolution for inspection/diagnosis. A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number must be assigned prior to shipping your defective product. Once assigned, the RMA number is valid for a period of 10 business days and must be returned to HIDevolution within the validity period. For continental U.S. based end users, HIDevolution and the manufacturer will provide complimentary two way ground shipping through FedEx Ground or equivalent. An expedited return shipping method may be chosen for an additional charge. End users located in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, U.S. possessions and territories, and military addresses may ship the product to the manufacturer or HIDevolution at their cost or purchase a shipping label from HIDevolution. If the problem has been pinpointed to a certain component (through remote troubleshooting), and HIDevolution deems it sufficiently safe for the end user to perform his/her own work, the end user will be given an option for a self repair via core exchange (exchange of working parts for non-working/DOA parts). Core exchanges require a deposit equal to the value of the replacement components in the form of a credit card authorization, refundable Paypal or Amazon payment, or equivalent.

3) At their discretion, HIDevolution and the manufacturer, will repair or replace the faulty component; or replace the entire product. HIDevolution will have no liability for loss or recovery of data or programs. End users should back up their data or request HIDevolution to attempt data recovery prior to shipping the product to HIDevolution.

12. Lifetime Free Technical Support

HIDevolution will provide technical advice and assistance for the product by email, online ticket system, live chat, or phone to the end user for as long as the end user continues to possess the product. Third party software and peripherals are not covered by this Lifetime Free Technical Support.

13. Limited Warranty Obligations are Limited to the Terms Set Forth Below:

The warranty and remedies set forth above are exclusive and in lieu of all others, whether oral or written, express, or implied. HIDevolution specifically disclaims any and all implied warranties, including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. No agent or employee is authorized to make any modification, extension, or addition to this warranty.

HIDevolution is not responsible for special, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from any breach of warranty, or under and other legal theory, including but not limited to lost profits, downtime, goodwill, damage to or replacement of equipment and property, and any costs of recovering, reprogramming, or reproducing any program or data stored in or used with products sold or manufactured by HIDevolution.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or exclusions of implied warranties, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.


14. Governing Law
This limited warranty policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California. Any litigation under this agreement shall be resolved in the trial courts of Orange County, State of California, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction on this matter.
